DESCRIPTION:
Waltham Clock Co., Waltham, Mass., "Banjo" time piece, 8 day, time only, weight driven E. Howard & Co. movement in a gold leafed presentation case with painted metal dial, reverse painted tablets and acorn finial, c1930
CONDITION:
the case retains its original finish with scattered flaking throughout gold leafing. There is a small piece of wood missing in top of throat panel where screws attach it to case under the bezel. The consignor believes that the Howard movement is original to the case, a similar situation to the Waltham Girandole, lot #456, sold in our October 2010 sale. Ht 42"
